Poole based Autoclave and Industrial Controls (AIC) have successfully had their Environmental Management System certified against ISO14001 by LRQA.  Initially in 2008 the RDA team were used to help AIC implement their Quality Management System against ISO9001.  AIC identified the business advantages of also obtaining ISO14001 and asked for assistance again from RDA to complete the project.  The project was successfully complete on time and on budget, and we have since been asked to provide ongoing support to this successful and growing company.

Kfour Development Support Ltd have successfully achieved ISO 9001 certification against their Quality Management System.  Stage 2 was completed on 3 August 2010.  The team at Kfour are delighted to have achieved the standard.

Environmental Resource efficiency funding is currently available for businesses based in the South West until the end of December 2013, with emphasis primarily on reducing carbon emissions.  Businesslink have advised us that funding for ISO14001 projects is also falling within this scope, so now is the time to seriously think about certification!

We are on the approved consultants list for Businesslink, so will be able to help you achieve your goals.

Funding is only available for new projects, so your starting point should be to contact Businesslink and they will then arrange for an advisor to meet and talk you through the process.

To help reduce RDA's carbon footprint Faith got her wellies on last Wednesday to plant a few trees.  Lots of local business's got together to plant new trees, including oaks, at Poor Common, Ferndown.

As a company who helps and supports local business' to implement, maintain and develop their own Environmental Management Systems we recognise it is equally important for RDA to support local initiatives.

RDA Ltd have been a member and attending the South Wessex Waste Minimisation Group (SWWMG) for over 5 years.  It's a great group which brings together environmental best practice from all sorts of companies from around the Dorset area.  Last Wednesday our environmental consultant, Anne Delaney, gave a presentation to the group on implementing Environmental Management Systems and gaining certification to ISO 14001.  The talk also gave an insight into the misconceptions and pitfalls surrounding implementing an EMS.

Around 50 members were present and a short debate session followed the presentation.

The SWWMG is free to join and contains lots of information on how your business can reduce all forms of waste within your company.  The meeting is also attended by the Environment Agency, which gives a forum for informal charts about any environmental issues you may have.

Euro Office Equipment Ltd received confirmation this week from LRQA that their Occupational Health and Safety Management system has been successfully certified against OHSAS 18001: 2007.

This was a huge achievement by the company due to the significant demands of the standard.  RDA Ltd played a major role in implementing and rolling out the system, which required engagement from all levels throughout the company.

OHSAS 18001 was considered to be a vital standard to achieve, as the management at Euro were keen to demonstrate their commitment to occupational health and safety to both employees and customers.

Euro already holds ISO9001 (Quality) and ISO14001 (Environmental) certification.  To gain certification against all three major standards is a significant achievement, which the company is very proud of.

Guarantee Laundries Ltd are a workwear and linen rental company based in Dorset and Wiltshire.  The customers cover a wide span of industry types for the provision of workwear, and they have an excellent reputation for top quality linen rental services to the country house hotel market.

The company has taken great pride in its ISO 9001 achievements; but are just as delighted to have successfully achieved re-certification to the Environmental Management Standard ISO14001.  To achieve this the laundry has installed a water recovery unit which has significantly reduced their water consumption.

Now the two business management systems have been achieved, RDA has been engaged to integrate the two business management systems during 2010.
