
BC25999 is a British Standard for Business Continuity Management (BCM). This standard is intended for use by anyone with responsibility for business operations or the provision of services, from top management through all levels of the organisation; for Corporates and SME’s alike.
BS25999 was created to set out a uniform benchmark in good practice, satisfying the needs of customers, clients, government, regulators and all other interested parties.
BCM provides organisations with a review process to help them understand what is critical to them. It enables organisations to review their operational activities and decide on what they need to recover, in what timeframe and to what operational level. The objective of the review is to ensure that the organisation gains an understanding of its key products and services.
The improved knowledge of an organisation’s critical activities, often leads to a greater sharing of key resources and an increased cultural awareness within the organisation.
